I made a doll!

Introducing my first ever completed doll.


I am pretty happy with my first effort at doll making.  Flaws and all.  I will keep those a secret but I will say there are a few.  She wouldn't have been made at all if I didn't have a bloggy friend talk me into a doll swap!  I mentioned a wish to learn to make a doll and now I have.

I learnt so much making this doll, from staining the body to making hair.  I used this pattern and tutorial from Lillie Mae's Crafts found here.  I didn't follow her instructions on hair making but used this tutorial instead.

Lastly, her collar is something I whipped up from a pattern I drew.  I was trying to make a sailor's collar.  If I make a dress with sailors collar again I will be enlarging the pattern I made.

Oops!  Just realized I didn't take a photo of the back view and she has gone off to live with her new family!

    Oh, my, she is just too cute!!! You did such a great job...and on your first try! I love to make dolls...just finished a baby doll for a shower gift...aren't they so much fun to make?

    Kylie, I am not at all a doll person, but I have to say she is one of the cutest dolls I have ever seen...I just love her face!! You did an absolutely EXCELLENT job! You definitely need to make more!

    What an adorable doll. You did a good job on the eyes! Very anime eyes. I can't believe you could part with the doll. Nice dress too. I'm really into dolls clothing myself.

    Your doll is just cute and beautiful! You did a great job and for a first doll I am quite impressed. Wow! I made my first dolls months ago and I still haven't made any clothes for them! You are way ahead of me.

    I love this doll. Once I made one myself. A Raggedy Anne styled doll but it looked more like an angel.
